Streets Of Buckhead : Delayed? Disaster? Dead?

Amidst the bad news that followed the 2008 holiday season was the fact that the luxury goods market took an especially big hit. The construction seems to have slowed and no new tenants have been announced. Anyone have any concrete news?

Repeat Atlanta!

I wonder if days upon days of constant rain are to blame?

I would agree. They just announced a bunch of stores just before Thanksgiving and they are still over a year away from opening. The economy should be in better shape by then and most retailers are preparing for that.

I see them working away on the project across from the Hi-Fi Buys today, so I agree w/ the previous post in terms of the non-stop rain we have had lately.

plus, I do know that they recently pushed back their opening date (i don't remember when exactly, but one when the economists foresee all this recession ending) so I guess that they aren't in as big of a hurry now...
i wouldn't worry. :)

I noticed that a temporary Hermes sign went up on the space adjacent to Fado. I thought they were going to occupy new space at the old Lodge location? If buiding has been delayed would they opt for different digs?

Ar one point Hermes was going to occupy space near the old Distant Replays and Abbadabba's stores but they opted for the space adjacent to Fado instead. It will be a temporary store until they open at SOB when that will be, no one really knows. They ended their lease with SIMON at Lenox so they were basically forced to move, though I think they'd be happier staying at Lenox until SOB is ready.

I love how all these folks think they are experts on the status of SOB. Hermes was always going to move to the temporary space next to Fado's when their lease with Simon at Lenox was up. No, they're not happy about it. But that was always the plan. No secret or conspiracy here. The project is moving along as planned.
