Nan Not Scared of High Space, Plans to Open "Vertigo"

Atlanta Magazine's Covered Dish reports that Nan and Charlie Niyomkul of Nan Thai Fine Dining and Tamarind Seed would be opening a new eatery caught Repeat Atlanta off guard but we now have uncovered new info on the would be eatery. Located in what was once our friend Gary Mennie's Taurus restaurant, "Vertigo" will feature traditional Thai barbecue and is said to be opening by late November, though its official opening is likely not to take place till the first of the year. The eatery's location and name are especially fitting as its located on the second level on Selig Enterprises' Brookwood Place in SoBu. Repeat Atlanta!

Hopefully they will do well! I have been waiting for these guys to come to Buckhead.

I think there are a lot of positives about this location. Very cool bar and outside area with awesome city views. You can poach park in Kroger lot if you don't feel like valet and it bodes a nice open space dining room and kitchen. Even the elevator ride to the top makes you feel like you are in a cool spot.

What ultimately caused the demise of Taurus was the lack of service and quality of food. I prob went 7 or 8 times and the food got worse and dining room more scare with each trip.

Good luck to Nan and Charlie!

The name of the restaurant has been changed to "Tuk Tuk". A tuk tuk is three-wheeled cab that is one of the main modes of transportation in Thailand. One is parked outside the Niyomkul’s Colony Square restaurant, Tamarind Seed and may make the move to the new eatery.
