Oh Joy! Goody's Clothing is Coming Back!

Goody's Family Clothing is making a comeback. After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2008, and then Chapter 7 in January 2009, all stores closed in February of last year. Now, a subsidiary of Stage Stores of Houston, Texas is re-opening closed Goody's after purchasing the Goody's name this past summer. A number of locations in Tennessee and Georgia have already reopened with more planned. Perhaps they are getting deals too "good" to pass up on retail space, as property owners will take almost any tenant over a vacancy now. The location pictured is in Anniston Alabama. One store just reopened in Calhoun and a second is scheduled in Rincon Georgia. I guess the chances of seeing Mr. Goodfriend make a comeback in their television advertisements are slim though: I always did like his lively ads. ToNeTo Atlanta
