Doh! Dunkin' Donuts Wants You to Eat More Donuts

Dunkin' Donuts is opening another metro location.

I reported last week that Dunkin' Donuts is making good on its pledge to grow its store count in the metro area.  In addition to the new location that just opened at Piedmont and Rock Springs Roads, other locations are coming soon to Little Five Points, Smyrna and Suwanee.

A reader brought to my attention that  another location is in the works, this on Howell Mill Road, towards west midtown.  The new Dunkin' Donuts will soon take the place of the KFC at 1766 Howell Mill Road, across from the Kroger anchored Howell Mill Square Shopping Center.

The area in which the new Dunkin' will open is cluttered with plenty of fast food options such as Wendy's and Taco Bell in addition to Waffle House and Chick-fil-A.  The KFC was for a time co-branded with sister YUM! Brands concept Pizza Hut, but from what I recall, had been operating as simply a KFC recently.

Last year a Church's Chicken opened in place of a shuttered KFC on Ponce de Leon Avenue.

The KFC recently closed and the Dunkin' will hopefully open before the end of the year.

should be a good location for them, considering the consistent traffic and the closest DD being on Cobb outside 285 (IIRC). Not to mention if you just want a coffee, you no longer have to deal with the hassle of navigating in and out of the Starbucks across the street.

Lots of KFCs closing up it seems like.

I am from New England, and it's unheard of that a DD does not remain open 24/7. The only location I can think of in Atl is at Toco Hills.
