A second HOLA! Mexican Cantina will open later this summer in Roswell.
Mike Brosius, founder of Cinco Mexican Cantina, opened the first Hola! Mexican Cantina last month in Decatur at the corner of East Ponce de Leon Avenue and Church Street. Brosius, a chronic entrepreneur, is reportedly no longer involved in Cinco, but is following a similar, but not identical, blueprint for Hola!
I first broke news of Brosius' plans last April but build-out took longer than expected, leading to the multi-month delay. The restaurant replaced what in the 90s was a popular Atlanta Bread Company location, that had more recently been the far less popular Decatur Diner.
The new Hola! will open in place of a shuttered, freestanding Wolf Camera store at the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Old Roswell Road. Wolf Camera and its parent, Ritz Camera liquidated their entire retail network last fall leaving many empty storefronts in Atlanta and around the country.
Hola! is similar to Cinco, but a little more casual. The menu consists of typical Mexican fare like fajitas, burritos and quesadillas. Fresh guacamole, assorted salsas and a well stocked bar are among the offerings one could expect from the new location.
Cinco has a total of four locations, all OTP, in suburban neighborhoods: Alpharetta, Cumming, Suwanee and at Akers Mill. Hola! on the other hand, opened first intown, in Decatur no less, one of the biggest foodie cities in the Atlanta area, and is now going back to the 'burbs for its second location.
I'm told there are plans for more Hola! locations but it's too far in the future to say when or where these will open.
Have you been to HOLA! and if so, what were your thoughts? Have you been to Cinco and Hola!, if so which do you prefer? What is your favorite OTP neighborhood for dining? Please share your thoughts below.
