Cook-Out is Rolling into Rome

Cook-Out is coming to Rome

North Carolina-based Cook-Out is planning a new location in Rome.  The new restaurant will open on Martha Berry Highway and will open in place of a shuttered Mrs. Winner's. The new Cook-Out will be about a block from fellow North Carolina chain Bojangles', and near both Arby's and Wendy's, as well as Western Sizzlin'.

Cook-Out entered the Georgia market earlier this year with a location in Statesboro and later added locations in Athens and Augusta.

Cook-Out plans to enter the metro Atlanta market early next year with a location on Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta, and also a restaurant on Northside Drive near Georgia Tech.  The Moreland Avenue location, like the one in Rome, was built as a Mrs. Winner's restaurant.

A company representative I reached by phone was able to confirm that Cook-Out will be opening "a number of locations in Atlanta," but was unable to provide exact dates or locations. The rep did indicate that progress and / or openings in metro Atlanta are expected to begin in March.

Near the upcoming Cook-Out, Publix opened their first location in Rome at Charles Hight Square earlier this year.  Soon La Parrilla and Jimmy John's will join Publix in the center.

I stopped at the Cook Out in Athens two Sundays ago at dinnertime and that place was completely packed. I don't remember ever seeing a fast food place with such a mob.

I love the Cook-Out in Knoxville - great burgers and 40 different milkshake flavors! Very friendly service too.

People have come over to my house and asked why the water in the pool is so dense. I tell them it is just bad maintenance but in reality it is just a build up of all my drool in anticipation for this restaurant. Sorry Bill and Susan.

The Room Cookout has become a bad hangout for teenagers & college kids. I went by there this evening & could not find a parking space. They were all outside their cars roaming around & none seemed like they had purchased any food. When I did find a place, I got out & they all looked at me strange like I shouldn't be there. I asked what was going on & one of the young girls replied that this was their hangout. I went back to my car & left. I've heard others complain even doing drive through. They may still get a lot of business but they will start losing more once the word gets around more. It is annoying.
