The Drafting Table Has Been Erased at the Pencil Factory Lofts

The Drafting Table has changed hands and will soon change names.

The Drafting Table, located at 349 Decatur Street at the Pencil Factory Lofts, has been sold. The restaurant is now under new ownership and management and will soon sport a new name, Bada Bings Sports, Food & Fun.  Bada Bing's will reportedly feature a more sports bar-like menu and atmosphere, likely ditching the craft cocktails and gastro pub feel in favor of classic beers and typical bar food. (I'm thinking Taco Mac-ish.)

The Drafting Table opened in late 2012 replacing the original restaurant, Hill Street Tavern.

No word on exactly how soon the conversion will take to complete, but a source at the restaurant told me the sale took place last week and that some minor menu changes have already taken place.  Additional tweaks are expected in the coming weeks coinciding with the name and signage change.  The restaurant will reportedly remain open for the duration of the changes.

Horrible name!

They're already operating as Bada Bing's. From the looks of their logo on Facebook, I give it 6 months.

That name is truly, truly awful.

To the Deathwatch! Seriously, this sounds like it would fly in a far less sophisticated city, not in the heart of downtown Atlanta.

Judging merely by a click browse through that Facebook page, this place will not last long. Incredibly unprofessional posts... And that name? Really? Let's not even begin to talk about the logo.

I don't know, it sure sounds like fun to me to "Martini The F@#K UP!!!" Seriously, though, how do people wind up running places like this?

The name, the concept... All sounds awful.

I think the name may do it some good? This sounds like pure cheese ball Yankee (Jersey, NYC, etc) type of bar. Maybe those folks will start going there and we won't have to deal with them? I mean, if you are old south, etc. and there is a bar called, "Southern Cross" or "Stars & Bars" or "Old South", what are the chances folks that like Bada Bings are gonna hang out there? This may actually be a good thing. Kind of like Hilton Head and Florida are for Southerners. Those places keep the Yanks out of SSI, Jeckly, Amelia, Destin, etc.

Name will appeal to college kids, too. Lots of college kids in the area. I could see it as the official bar of some frat or the GA State Football team/
