Bits & Bites

According to a company representative, Chipotle Mexican Grill is planning to open its new location in the Lenox Square Fashion Cafe in May.

Lenox Square sources indicate the recently implemented traffic circle at the front of the mall has been an overall failure and plans are already being discussed to eliminate it.

Womens clothing retailer Dots is reportedly in the final weeks of its liquidation sale following their January Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.  The women's retailer cited increased competition from the likes of Target and Walmart as  factors contributing to their failure.  Dots operated 359 stores at the time of its filing, about a dozen of which were in metro Atlanta.

The relocated Waffle House is now open at 6445 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.  The Norcross-based waffle joint was forced to relocate from its former home at 230 Mount Vernon Highway to make room for the upcoming Sandy Springs City Hall redevelopment project.

Los Potrillos Mexican Restaurant has opened in the short-lived Ariana Afghan Cuisine restaurant on Roswell Road, just off I-285.

Suwanee sources indicate that Greek Island is close to opening.  The restaurant has been in the works since last year, but recently paper covering the restaurant's windows was removed and equipment has been moved in.

Yum Yum Dessert Co. (formerly Yum Yum Cupcake & More) will occupy the former Little Cake space at Powers Ferry Square on Roswell Road in North Buckhead. The 640 square foot shop, adjacent to the upcoming bartaco, is slated to open April 4th.

I don't klnow where else to post this: I took my dad to Sprinkles for a cupcake, but we left as there were flies and gnats landing on them. The employees were nowhere to be found. The selection was limited and there were empty spaces in the display (Friday at 6:00PM). Gross.

I know this website was super-excited about this location, but, NOT.

The best thing they could do for traffic at Lenox is to have a dedicated entrance and a dedicated exit on/off Peachtree. Don't let both serve each direction.

The circle is a disaster because a) people in Atlanta don't know how to use a roundabout, b) traffic volume at Lenox is really high, and c) all of the vehicle traffic, combined with foot traffic makes for a nasty situation. This is with Cheesecake Factory not even open yet. Can't imagine how bad it will get then.
