EXTINCT : Buffalo Wild Wings Gone From Lenox Marketplace

Buffalo Wild Wings on the move in Buckhead.

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Buffalo Wild Wings has closed its location at Lenox Marketplace in Buckhead. The roughly 5200 square foot Buffalo Wild Wings   restaurant opened at the center in 2009 in a space that was previously Ali-Oli, a trendy Mediterranean & Italian eatery.

According to signage on the space, the restaurant closed effective Monday April 21st, and will reopen "soon" at their new location.

As I mentioned earlier this month, Buffalo Wild Wings will be moving to 2200 Peachtree Road, about 3.5 miles away, in South Buckhead.  The freestanding restaurant space was for 14 years home to Justin's restaurant, an establishment owned by P. Diddy, but has been vacant since mid 2012

Buffalo Wild Wings at Lenox Marketplace was already pretty well cleared out by Friday afternoon.  While I was unable to confirm this, it's my belief that the Buffalo space will be joined with the remaining 7,700+/- square feet left from the new Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio, and be made available as a single store.

Although that was not a *great* location, it was often surprisingly crowded ... Especially for weekend football games.

Honestly, BWW is decent but very overpriced.... Chicken Wings with any kind of sauce should really only be about $8, not the $10.99 that BWW charges.

Chicken wings just about everywhere are surprisingly overpriced.

If your theory is right, that's incredibly stupid by the landlord. They have an existing kitchen built out. Restaurants cost 3x to 4x as much to build out as a soft good retail store. Why ever get rid of an existing build out? Plain idiocy. PLUS, rents from restaurants are always higher than any other type of retail establishment. I figured they found a restaurant who wanted it for more rent or they tried to raise rent on BWW and it backfired.

^ I think it comes down to a matter of location. While their Lenox location seemed to be pretty successful you had to know about it otherwise you'd never know it was there. With the new location they get high visibility in a high traffic location that will draw from Midtown and Buckhead and in a larger space with dedicated/better parking.
