521 Kitchen & Que Coming to North Buckhead

A new restaurant is coming to north Buckhead.
521 Kitchen & Que is coming to Wieuca-Roswell shopping center.  The new restaurant will occupy the former Tin Drum Asiacafe that closed earlier this year.

City of Atlanta documents suggest that the owners of the new restaurant plan to spend just over $350,000 to renovate the space to suit their needs.  The restaurant will reportedly offer barbecue and other American fare in a casual environment.

Not far away, Clay Harper of Fellini's & La Fonda fame opened a Buckhead outpost of his barbecue eatery, The Greater Good.  The Greater Good opened last fall in a space adjacent to Fellini's that had most recently been home to Ringside Franks & Shakes.

In the Buckhead Village, Smokebelly BBQ, another barbecue restaurant, opened last month in partnership with the ownership of Tin Lizzy's and The Big Ketch, among others.

Nutty the amt of BBQ opening within a 3 mile stretch. I have been to Lovie's 7 times and I think it's tasty and the service is A+. Went to Smoke Belly's last week and the venue is great, the food was good I thought and I had lots of leftovers. Pricey for lunch but nice place and good amt of food so not surprising. Greater Good BBQ I went to yesterday for the 3rd time. I like their meat a lot and sides are good too. Definitely plan to keep going back monthly for lunch. I'm not normally so positive but all 3 places hit the spot and are different from one another.

Yeah, its kind of strange that we had a lack of BBQ places in the city, especially in Buckhead for the longest time. There were a few options here and there, but I always found myself driving to another part of town for BBQ.

Now Buckhead is bursting at the seams with places, as are other parts of the city. On top of that, now the celebrity chefs are jumping on the wagon (Kevin Gillespie).

I predict we are in the 4th-5th inning of a BBQ bonanza in the city... our restaurant scene seems to always follow trends and everybody jumps on board... like southern fare, tacos, burgers, etc... Now its BBQ's turn.
