A new Stars & Strikes bowling and entertainment complex will open in Woodstock next spring. The new 50,000 square foot Stars & Strikes will open at 10010 GA 92 in Woodstock, right off Interstate 575.  Stars & Strikes has existing locations in Cumming, Lawrenceville, Sandy Springs, Dallas (Georgia) and Stone Mountain.

H&M is slated to open their new store at Perimeter Mall at noon this Thursday, August 7th.  

Nacho Mama's Street Taqueria has closed on Lawrenceville Highway near North DeKalb Mall.  Nacho Mama's previously operated a food truck and opened its bricks & mortar location about a year ago.  A new eatery called "Go Vegetarian Restaurant" is opening in place of Nacho Mama's.  A new Goodwill store is also opening in the center, but likely not until late next year.  

OTP Tap & Grill has opened in Roswell near the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Old Alabama Road.  

Tom Murphy and two business partners, investor Dave Green and Murphy’s chef Ian Winslade, purchased the former Garrison's restaurant in Vinings.  Garrison's was part of Metrotainment Cafes and the Vinings location was the last of three Garrison's open.  Sources say the new restaurant will likely be an extension of Murphy's, the popular three decades young Virginia-Highland restaurant.  The new restaurant, Paces & Vine, is expected to open in mid-to-late September.  

Bell Street Burritos on Peachtree in south Buckhead now offers beer and King of Pops.  

Austin, Texas-based Chuy's has opened its new location in Kenneaaw.  In the making for nearly two years, the restaurant finally opened yesterday.  Atlanta's first Chuy's opened near Perimeter Mall in 2011.

The first ground up Sprouts Farmers Market in Georgia is scheduled to open August 20th in Fuqua Development's "Peachtree Corners Market" project.  The natural foods focused supermarket will be joined in an adjacent center by Verizon Wireless, Sleep Number, and Zoës Kitchen. A PNC Bank will also open.  A second phase of the project, 20 acre "Carillon Village," is not yet started and is likely to begin shortly after the Sprouts center is completed.  Carillon Village will consist of a  "retail component of 150,000 sf of restaurants, a health club, retail and fashion tenants and includes Class A office space housed above the retail of 15,000 sf. More than 356 residents will make their home in our project, living in luxury rental units located on the project's Main Street." The project will also include a 120 room boutique hotel, also located over retail.  

Cupcake Mafia & Boutique has opened at 2115 Piedmont Road.  The line is created by women, for women, and reportedly donates 20% of proceeds to breast cancer research.  The store is billed as the Cleveland, Ohio-based line's "flagship" location.  In some ways the store seems to be the female version of Boston-based Johnny Cupcakes.  

Freshii reportedly closed its Lenox Square Fashion Cafe location at the height of the lunch rush yesterday.  Freshii has a sign up that says they're closed "because of plumbing leaks from California Pizza Kitchen and that the safety of our guests is important." Freshii opened at Lenox in April.

Book Warehouse will open a new 4,600 square foot store store at Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw September 1st.  The store will be located on the lower level next to Belk.  The store carries new books at 50-80% list price as well as offering family and kid friendly activities.   Book Warehouse is closing in on 25 locations in about 20 states. Currently Book Warehouse operates Georgia locations in Dunwoody near Nordstrom Rack and in Woodstock at the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.  (The Town Center location is reportedly a "relocation" of the Woodstock store.)
