Vacant Walmart to Become Sam's Club in Woodstock

Warehouse club coming to Woodstock.

Bentonville, Arkansas-based Walmart plans to replace its long shuttered store on Main Street in Woodstock with a new Sam's Club.

The 126,000+ square foot former Walmart sits in Woodstock Place shopping center and will be demolished for the new store.  The new 134,000+ square foot Sam's Club should open late next year or in early 2016 and will also feature a gas station.

*A new Walmart Supercenter opened less than four miles away to replace the old location.

The new Sam's Club in Woodstock will serve a population that has had to travel to Marietta or Alpharetta to patronize the wholesale club.

Sam's Club currently has twenty-three locations in Georgia compared to the eleven operated by rival Costco Wholesale.

They should convert the Super Walmart on HWY 9 N in Forsyth by McFarland Parkway to a Sams Club. The building looks amazing but Walmart does very poorly, walk inside....they even rented a space to a Karate Studio...never have I ever seen Karate in a Walmart...What a disaster.

This new Sam's Club will and should take some of the traffic away from west of I-575.

BJ Wholesale Club may suffer from this new Sam's.
