Bits & Bites

Pretty Please boutique is closing their Buckhead location in Powers Ferry Square shopping center. The baby, kid and tween clothing and gift retailer opened in 2012.  Its closure, slated to be February 10th, will mark the third boutique closure in the center in the past 60 days following the closures of Bridge Boutique and Festivity

On the heels of the closure of the original Bhojanic on Clairmont Road, a new "Bhojanic Market" has opened at Cox Hall on the campus of Emory University.  The restaurant's facebook page mentions it being  the "first of many to come." The menu reportedly features "Bhojanic favorites served hot or cold as grab and go. Tiffins and prepared meals also available soon."

In related news, Mama Tiger, a new concept from the owners of Decatur's Makan restaurant, is expected to open at Emory University on Thursday. Mama Tiger will serve ramen and Taiwanese beef noodle soup, steamed buns, and bubble tea.   The restaurant is located on Asbury Circle, inside the Dobbs University Center. Mama Tiger will be open 11 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.   Makan partners Michael Lo and chef George Yu opened Makan inside the Courtyard Decatur Downtown hotel on Clairemont Avenue in July 2014.

The Anchor Bar & Tattoo Studio has closed.   The 3,600 square foot freestanding former bank building at the intersection of Piedmont Circle, Piedmont Avenue and Cheshire Bridge Road in midtown is reportedly available for lease.

A new Which Wich? is expected to open soon in The District at Howell Mill on Howell Mill Road, just of I-75.  The sandwich shop will open in a roughly 1,800 square foot space between GameStop and America's Best.  The Dallas, Texas-based sandwich chain has over a dozen franchised locations in metro Atlanta including eateries in Lenox Square, Town Brookhaven and Emory Point.  The franchisee of the new Howell Mill location is also opening Which Wich? restaurants in midtown and Kennesaw.

Cameli's Pizza in Little 5 Points has opened a new concept on the second floor of its Moreland Avenue restaurant.  Arcadia, which features the image of the adapter needed to convert a 45 to play on a turntable as its logo, offers dinner weekly and brunch on the weekends.

Highland Eye Boutique will soon relocate to a new home in Virginia Highland.  Currently located in Morningside Village near Doc Chey's Noodle House and Pure Barre, Highland Eye Boutique will move into the former Chico's at 1056 North Highland. The women's chain retailer closed earlier this week after 15 years in business.   The freestanding building sits in the heart of Virginia Highland, at the corner of North Highland Avenue and Los Angeles Avenue. Current plans call for the eyewear store to open in late April or early May.

The construction barricades have come down at Tom Ford at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta.  According to a source at the luxury retailer, employees are in training now with the store slated to open to the public next month.

Napoleon's Grill is expanding their restaurant to allow for private events.  The restaurant, located in Vista Grove shopping center on LaVista Road, will grow from their current 4,300 square feet to 8,700 square feet.  The restaurant's expansion will mean the relocation of Happy Times package store which currently occupies the adjacent space.  (Both spaces, as well as neighboring Workout Anytime, were all once a single grocery store.  The new expansion will allow for Napoleon's to host weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, etc. Happy Times will relocate to the soon to close Lucy Goosey space.
