Mangia! Eataliano Kitchen Opening at Brighten Park

New restaurant planned for popular center.
A new Italian restaurant called "Eataliano Kitchen" plans to open later this year in Brighten Park.  The 3,000 square foot space adjacent to The Fresh Market was previously home to Loco's Bar & Grill.  The space  was renovated and saw the addition of an outdoor patio when the center was transformed from Loehmann's Plaza to Brighten Park.

Marc Gholam of Vinings' New York Pizza Exchange and his cousin Marcello Najm of Marcello's in Buckhead are partnering to open the new restaurant.  Both Gholam and Najm have operated their respective restaurants since the early 80s, each with devoted followings.

Eataliano Kitchen will be a full service Italian restaurant specializing in fresh pizza and pasta as well as other small plates and other classic Italian fare.  Najm told me by phone earlier this week that he has been working on the menu for the new restaurant for seven months.  Current plans call for the restaurant to be open by late June.

Marcello's brother Julian recently opened a second Marcello's at Emory Point and will not be involved in the Brighten Park restaurant.

Eataliano Kitchen joins a refreshed offering of eateries in the center which now includes Zoës Kitchen, Grub Burger Bar and Smoothie King. Eataliano Kitchen will likely try to capture some of Italian dining dollars left on the table following the closure of Osteria Cibo Rustico (and before that, Mirko Pasta) at nearby Toco Hills Promenade in late 2014.

Are you excited for the opening of Eataliano Kitchen at Brighten Park?  Have you been to either Marcello's or New York Pizza Exchange? What else would you like to see open in the center?

Please share your thoughts below.
