[UPDATE] Grub Burger Bar to Debut in Sandy Springs Early May

After a series of delays, the new Grub Burger Bar in Sandy Springs is nearly finished.  College Station, Texas-based Grub Burger Bar plans to open its fourth metro Atlanta location in early May (potentially as soon as Tuesday May 1) at the corner of Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Hammond Drive in the street level retail of the new Hanover Perimeter apartment complex.
The restaurant will be about 4,000 square feet with a large outdoor patio.  When we first reported on the planned opening this past April, restaurant ownership hoped to be open late by October/early November.

ToNeTo Atlanta considers Grub to be among the best "chain" burger restaurants.  Grub makes their burger buns from scratch hourly, and offers a variety of burger protein choices: beef, turkey, chicken, salmon, tuna and veggie.

Grub joins "better burger" concept Shake Shack, which opened at Perimeter Mall in late 2016, and local favorite Farm Burger, about four miles away in Georgetown shopping center, as burger options in the area.

As we reported this past October, a new Zinburger is coming to Sterling Pointe, a new development across from Perimeter Mall, on Ashford Dunwoody Road.  Construction recently began on the restaurant with the hope that it will be open by late fall.

Grub entered the metro Atlanta market in spring 2014 with a location in Akers Mill Square on Cobb Parkway near Cumberland Mall.  In early 2015, the chain added a second metro location in Brighten Park (fka Loehmann's Plaza) on Briarcliff Road in northeast Atlanta.  A third location opened in 2016 at The Collection at Forsyth, a large shopping center off exit 3 of GA-400 in Forsyth county.

Sources say Grub is planning as many as three additional locations in metro Atlanta in the coming years, one of which could open in the Duluth area in 2019.

Are you excited for the addition of Grub Burger Bar to Sandy Springs?  What is your favorite "better burger" chain?  Where would you like to see Grub open next?

Please share your thoughts below.

Villiage burger is by far the local favorite. It's not even close

We like VB, and the prices at VB are good, but we may well try Grub. Where is the parking for Grub? just on-street?

This intersection has a very septic/'officey' type of feel, that may not bode well for Grub, but maybe I'll be wrong.

Village Burger is good and their price point is considerably lower than the other burger places. I would bet they don't use as high a quality ingredients though if that is something someone is concerned with.

Village burger is great but it's so out of the way from my job so I am glad Grub is opening. They certainly have better shakes than Shake Shack

Grub was disappointing. Way overrated.

Hi! We will have our own spaces in a parking deck connected to the building with easy access to the restaurant. We are also speaking to a parking lot next door about parking as well. Hope to see you soon!

I'm always stunned how good Grub Burger is after I eat there. It's just so delicious, AND they have the best salads. Just delicious. And sometimes when you're there, they hand out samples of their milkshakes!

Grub burger is just OK. Nothing that great. The one in Cumberland is kinda dirty and smells. They need to clean up the restaurant and restrooms. The workers also need a revisit.

@ 3:33 PM surely works for Grub Burger. The high school quality cheerleading is a dead giveaway. Fake reviews do not help business.
