Say Nǐ Hǎo to Kong's Kitchen, a New Late-Night Chinese Delivery Restaurant Coming to Piedmont Heights

A new late-night Chinese eatery plans to open later this summer in Piedmont Heights. Restaurateur Tung Lee Kong filed permits with the City of Atlanta last month to open the new take-out and delivery only restaurant on Piedmont Avenue.   Kong's Kitchen, which he plans to open in June, is opening in a roughly 1,700 square foot space between Smith's Olde Bar and the former Ansley Antiques space.  Kong's Kitchen plans to stay open until around 3 a.m. to cater to late night bar and nightclub patrons.
Kong's Kitchen is located between the former Ansley Antiques and Smith's Olde Bar

The restaurant is located at 1584 Piedmont Avenue in Morningside Center, a property that, like Ansley Mall, Ansley II, and many other properties in metro Atlanta, is owned by Selig Enterprises.

Kong saw a void in the market for a healthier late night alternative and plans to offer healthier Chinese fare than other Chinese restaurants.  R. Thomas Deluxe Grill is a popular 24 hour healthy eatery but is a sit-down oriented business with limited delivery offerings through platforms such as Grubhub.  Chow Bing, a healthy Chinese restaurant located in the Disco Kroger shopping center in Buckhead, also offers delivery, but is not open late.

Online records indicate that Kong owns a small chain of burger & wings restaurants called J Burger n Wings with locations in Decatur, Lithonia and LaGrange.

Are you excited for the addition of a healthier late night option in the area?  Where is your favorite late night eatery in Atlanta?  Have you experienced the healthy Chinese fare at Chow Bing?
