[EXPANSION ALERT] Nancy's Pizzeria Coming to Conyers

A new location of Nancy's Pizzeria is coming to Conyers.  The Chicago-style, deep-dish pizza restaurant, which will be at least the sixth in Georgia, will open in a former Mattress Firm in Conyers Plaza, a Walmart Supercenter-anchored shopping center on Dogwood Drive.  Floyd Sims, a multi-unit franchisee of McDonald's, and his "Legends  Property Management & Investments,LLC" are opening the new pizzeria.

Sims, who at one time owned at least seven McDonald's restaurants, currently serves as the Vice President & Secretary/Treasurer of National Black McDonald's Operators Association. (NBMOA), according to its website.

The new restaurant, which will join an outparcel strip center already home to The Juicy Crab, is being designed by Barker Nester, Inc, architects from Chicago, where Nancy's is based.  The new Nancy's will be just over 5,000 square feet and joins existing Atlanta area locations already opened in Midtown, Buckhead, East Point and Johns Creek.

As ToNeTo Atlanta reported earlier this year, Nancy's Pizzeria also plans to open a similarly sized new restaurant in the Walmart Supercenter-anchored Perimeter Village on Ashford Duwnoody Road in Dunwoody.

In addition to the multiple Nancy's in development, Gino's East of Chicago, another Chicago-based Chicago-style pizzeria, is also planning a new restaurant in metro Atlanta.  ToNeTo Atlanta reported last month that Gino's has leased the short-lived Rize Pizza on North Highland Avenue in Poncey-Highland.  The restaurant, which is expected to open later this year, will be the chain's first in Georgia.

Are you pleased to see the expansion of Chicago-style pizzerias in metro Atlanta?  Where would you like to see the next Chicago-style pizzeria open?  Who in metro Atlanta makes the best Chicago style pizza?

Please share your thoughts below.

In America no one should ever be more than 1/4 mile from pizza or Starbucks. Starbucks has done its part. Good to know the pizza investors are stepping it up. Best of luck!

In my opinion they can't open fast enough. I'm in McDonough so it's much closer than the others.
