[EXCLUSIVE] Sarah Donuts to Fill Hole in Roswell Restaurant Row

Sarah Donuts will open their seventh overall location next year in Roswell on Holcomb Bridge Road. The new shop will open between Pizza Hut and Jersey Mike's Subs in Roswell Village shopping center.  The new Sarah Donuts will be 805 square feet and is the latest in a string of new tenants that have signed on for the center which is currently undergoing a significant renovation.

Palm Beach, Florida-based Sterling Organization, through the firm's institutional fund Sterling Value Add Partners II LP,  purchased the roughly 14 acre center for $10.6 million in October 2014.  Within the past two months, renovations have begun in earnest, with additional new tenants reportedly being negotiated.

In addition to Sarah Donuts, ROSS Dress For Less, Phenix Salon Suites and Crunch Fitness are opening new locations in the center, while Marshalls plans to relocate their store on Holcomb Bridge Road in East Village shopping center to Roswell Village next summer.  Marshalls and ROSS will share a reconfigured space previously home to a Publix that has been vacant since the grocer closed in 2005.

The new location will join existing Sarah Donut shops in Suwanee (2), Duluth, Norcross, Cumming and their newest in North Decatur Plaza near Decatur, which opened this past April.

Korean natives Sara Park and husband Jong Park were involved in their family's doughnut shop business in Texas for more than 20 years, opening their first Atlanta area shop—called Sara Donuts—in 2004 on Medlock Bridge Road in Duluth. The original location still carries the "Sara Donuts" moniker while subsequent locations are "Sarah Donuts."

What makes Sarah Donuts unique is that they are largely made by hand, fresh, in each location.  The resulting product is a slightly crisp outside and extra-fluffy inside.

Sarah Donuts was named "Best of Atlanta 2016 - Doughnuts" by Atlanta Magazine, while Thrillist named them "The Best Damn Donuts in Atlanta" in 2016.

Have you been to Sarah Donuts?  Where do you think the best doughnuts in Atlanta are?  Where would you like to see Sarah Donuts open next?

When I grew up in Roswell 40+ years ago, there were few restaurants. This spot was a bar/restaurant called "The Admiral's Dinghy" - clever name that never ceased to delight us. The China Garden restaurant in the same complex has been there non-stop. It has to be the oldest contuously run restaurant in one location in Roswell.

I think mc Donalds is the oldest, although they did tear down the original and replace in the same spot with a new building
