[CLOSURE ALERT] Four Fewer Places for Bo Time in Metro Atlanta

Bojangles' this week closed four of its restaurants in metro Atlanta.   The Charlotte, North Carolina-based chicken chain reportedly closed the four restaurants without prior notice to customers and due to them all being "underperforming," according to a company spokesperson.

The company closed locations on Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Peachtree Corners and on Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn at the close of business on Monday.  In a subsequent move, the company closed locations on Lawrenceville Highway in Lawrenceville and on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Duluth at the close of business on Tuesday.  All of the affected restaurants were company owned and are located in Gwinnett County.

Records indicate the Lawrenceville restaurant, located at 1470 Lawrenceville Highway, was the oldest of the four affected restaurants, having opened in 2004.  The Duluth restaurant, at 3625 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, was the newest restaurant, having opened August 22, 2017.  Records indicate the Peachtree Corners restaurant, located at 7140 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, opened December 29, 2013 and the  Lilburn restaurant at 5625 Lawrenceville Highway opened  January 12, 2015.

Notices of the respective closures were posted to the drive-thrus and front doors of the affected restaurants with exterior signage already removed from both the Lilburn and Peachtree Corners restaurants as of Tuesday afternoon.

"Most affected employees will be offered employment at other Bojangles’ restaurants in the area, and we are committed to meeting all of our obligations as a long-time employer in the community."

Following the closures, Bojangles’ will continue to operate 105 other restaurants in Georgia including locations in Chamblee, Doraville, Tucker, Buford, Marietta, Kennesaw and Carrollton, among others.   Collectively there are currently approximately 745 restaurants in the Bojangles’ system.

Bojangles' was last November taken private by Durational Capital Management LP and The Jordan Company, L.P.

Are you surprised by the four Bojangles' closures?  Where is your favorite place to get fried chicken in Atlanta?  What would you like to see open in the new vacant former Bojangles' restaurants?

When you food service hiring managers get it??? It is all about the underperforming thugs working in your restaurants! Get the right attitude-having, clean, courteous staff and the business will follow.

Not surprised that the location on Lawrenceville Hwy in Lawrenceville closed. It's been steadily declining the past 2-3 years!

I grew up in South Carolina loving BoJangles. So, when they started opening up here in Atlanta, I was overjoyed.
I have been to several locations, but the ones I visit most are in Woodstock (Trickum at Hwy 92) and Sandy Springs (north of Northridge on Hwy 9) and they are both fantastic locations. The one in Doraville is not bad either (based on a couple of visits over the last couple of years).
But, it seems to me - based on the closures this week and other recent closures (Marietta, etc.) that they may have tried to expand too quickly in this market. Maybe. Anyway, I hate to see ANY restaurant or establishment close - but especially ones I grew up with.

Aww! I went to the peachtree industrial location today and was very upset . Going to miss them

Lawrenceville location was a hit and miss experience. If it was busy the food was good. In off time the product was substandard.

The new super Bojangles in Stockbridge already sucks. Open 2 months and still can't get an order of the food right. The Chic Fil A still creamsvit. The only way they get any business is CAR overflow. New circulars set to area houses don't even have the new locations address.

The main problem with BoJangles is that it's not as good as Popeye's.

Umm okay to the Anonymous who said: Bojangles is not as good as Popeyes I’ve had both good and bad experiences with either of them, so you need to rethink what you said because Popeyes isn’t always good either, I miss Bojangles where I currently live, the only chicken places that are fast food near me now are: Chick-fil-A, Zaxby’s, Popeyes, Golden Chick, KFC, Church’s in Callaway, Florida only, and Guthrie’s just opened so it’s something like Zaxby’s but want to try it soon, because it is another choice of not having a Bojangles and Popeyes on the Beach, so yeah I used to live in Metro Atlanta, sounds like to me Bojangles is poorly managed hands down.

I’m not surprised the Peachtree Industrial location failed. It’s at an awkward location to begin with—you can’t turn left into the parking lot because there is a median in the middle of the road, so you have to make a U-turn to get there. On top of that, there’s a Chick-Fil-A basically next door, and a Popeyes and a Zaxby’s within a mile.

I guess the Peachtree Corners location isn’t much better—it’s next door to a Popeye’s, and there is a Zaxby’s and Chick-Fil-A within walking distance.

Been going to Peachtree Industrial location since it opened. Loved it, biscuits and gravy in the morning. I miss it. Popeyes opened around the corner. they are terrible and no breakfast. I was shocked when I pulled up in December and they were pulling signs down. Why did corporate not give them a chance. It was awesome place to dine. Chick fil a is no competition for Bo time. Bo time biscuits with egg is parralled only to Hardees breakfast. So, So upset with this closing. Do NOT understand the reasoning. Corporate greed, takes away the best breakfast for me.

The location of the peachtree one sucked. Good hot food but hated either having to u-turn or try to turn left out of there. Also competition. After opening not long after mc Donald's started all day breakfest. Popeyes and now zaxbys is close. Chic fil a is around the corner. 5 min down the road is biscuit king of them all. MARTINS!!! I wish they open a hardees up around here. Hasn't been one since the late 90's early 2000's
