Why do people have to sling such insults about the residents of Tucker? No, we're not "hi rent" (assuming the commenter meant "high" and not "hello") because we don't rent. We own. Who care what standards are used to decide if a restaurant is "upscale" or not. Who cares what you want to label it, if it is good food, there will be support for it. Local 7 has done very well, so this new venture will be a great addition to Main Street.Get the Cell Out - ATLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07162074839532573945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-69135056508527006752015-04-01T10:35:44.685-04:002015-04-01T10:35:44.685-04:00I wish them fortune and fame and want to say thank...I wish them fortune and fame and want to say thank you for believing in Tucker!
Trellaborgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-59756554997005765112015-03-31T19:59:43.246-04:002015-03-31T19:59:43.246-04:00I like the idea of a nice place in Tucker. My neighbors love to wish but in reality they don't have the money or the palate to support better food choices. They DO love and support mediocre food like Matthews, Enzos, and even Los Colinas, which is bland mex at its worst. Hey, everyone's gotta eat and we all have different ideas of good...but the fact is, once this place has been forced to add sports TVs and dumb down their menu for the masses like the other places have, those of us who like more refined dining now and then will continue to drive over into Decatur and Atlanta. I wish them luck though. Mexican food everywhere, and fast food abundance. The only healthy place we have close is Sprig. Right now our best bet is Marlowe's and that is ho-hum at best. I would love to see some good, affordable wines by the bottle ($30-$40 range).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15050929258580938690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-9875109992596028262015-03-30T12:44:41.327-04:002015-03-30T12:44:41.327-04:00It will be. I’m also not surprised at all that the significantly overpriced Sweet Dee’s closed.

Now, obviously the success of 572 depends on how they define “upscale” but I think they need to walk a fine line. I do believe people would like to see something a little more upscale than the local burger joints, cafeterias and Mexican restaurants. However, I’m not sure there are enough folks willing to pay $50 a plate for some gimmicky free range/farm-to-table small plates. Tucker is less “hipster” and more a combination of families and mature couples, but there are people willing to spend a little more for a nice meal they just need to remember Tucker isn’t the Old Fourth Ward.
Hamnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-49689912769290314102015-03-30T11:25:24.877-04:002015-03-30T11:25:24.877-04:00I'm kind of skeptical that it will all work ou...I'm kind of skeptical that it will all work out, but good luck to them.

I've long thought that some of the land just east of main street (currently filled with an assortment of ugly little offices) could be used for upscale apartments.

But there is still the issue that this is not a 'hi rent' ITP area.

~mindspringyahooAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-90091022850657519292015-03-30T08:28:01.848-04:002015-03-30T08:28:01.848-04:00Cool!
