Chastain Park is getting a new option for pizza. Bertolozi's Pizzeria is opening soon in place of Enzo's Pizza, which closed earlier this week after about two years in the area.
Danny Huber launched Bertolozi's Pizzeria first as a pop-up and later as a food stall at Roswell Junction this past February. He closed at the food hall earlier this week to dedicate his time to opening and operating what will be the first brick & mortar location of his own in Chastain Park.
Bertolozi's is named for Huber's mother Joyce Bertolozi, who passed away in late 2021 from cancer. After her passing, Huber struggled with severe depression, guilt, and grief before ultimately deciding to get sober. He started the pizzeria to honor his mother and other family members who have passed away.
Bertolozi's is different from Enzo's, Fellini's, and many other pizza shops in the area in that they specialize in Chicago Cracker Thin "Tavern Style" Pizza. This style, first developed in the 1950s, is a Chicago staple with a crispy, cracker-thin crust cut into squares. This cut is intentionally designed so a person can hold a piece in one hand while holding a beer in the other.
Huber took to Instagram Friday to officially announce the "move" to Chastain Park and also revealed that the new location will feature several new menu offerings including Italian Beef sandwiches, Chicago dogs, and salads.
Portillo's, a Chicagoland favorite, confirmed that they will be opening their first Atlanta area location November 18 in Kennesaw, but Bertolozi's has the potential to capture intown residents uninterested in making the trek so far OTP.
Are you excited for the opening of Bertolozi's in Chastain Park? Did you ever visit Bertolozi's in Roswell Junction? What is your favorite style of pizza?

Ate once at Enzo's and did not expect they would last. Good luck to the next one. Hard to beat the excellent pizza within a few blocks / miles from Chastain Park Shopping Center.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find great pizza in Chastain area. Used to love Rosati's(?) but it closed a while back and Felini's has been disappointing last few trips.
DeleteWhere do you find great pizza around Chastain?
DeleteThey sell great slices inside! Get one next time you go to a concert. Otherwise its a park, trees and houses around Chastain.
DeleteLooking forward to it
ReplyDeleteInteresting, hold a beer instead of a drink. While recovering addiction. Thou that's wonderful.. will try the restaurant but Yandys pizza so far has been favorite in the Sandy springs area .. true New York, Detroit Pizza
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Yandy’s is the best.
DeleteThe "hold a beer" is not HIS quote. It's how they refer to the type of pizza.
DeleteHIS quote is Tandya is good eatin!
DeleteSad that they are leaving Roswell, which was much closer to me. But the pizza is legit, so I guess I’ll be driving to Buckhead occasionally.
ReplyDeleteSmart to leave that Roswell food hall. Went recently on a Saturday night. Most businesses closed. The few open had terrible service.
