Capriotti's Sandwich Shop has closed its last remaining Atlanta area franchise. A Kennesaw location of the Las Vegas-based franchise closed effective September 3, according to an email sent to patrons. There was reportedly no warning to patrons or employees ahead of the abrupt closure.
Previously, there was another Capriotti's on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth, but after opening in January 2015, it closed in early 2016.
Capriotti's closure in Kennesaw creates an opportunity for a new restaurant (Potbelly?) to lease the 2,100 square foot space and inherit a fully built-out restaurant in a center already home to Chipotle, Taziki's, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, among others.
What would you like to see open in place of Capriotti's? What is your favorite sandwich shop? How much is too much to pay for a sandwich at a quick-serve restaurant?

It's impossible for me to be concerned about a business located 30 miles away from the heart of Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteWhy?
DeleteBecause it doesn't involve chicken?
DeleteIt's impossible for me to be concerned about a business located in the slums of Atlanta.
DeleteIt's impossible for me to have anymore concern or interest at all in this blog. Too many jackasses.
DeleteThey had great sandwiches
ReplyDeleteI went there twice, and it was oddly expensive and oddly mediocre.
ReplyDeleteHow odd
DeleteAnother local business falls victim to the Trump inflation.
ReplyDeleteDoubtful. They were open during the Biden administrations foolishness, that’s what caused their down fall. This November vote red or we’ll all be dead.
DeleteWe’re all going to die anyway so what difference does it make?
Deleteyea so why not die much earlier than much later right?
DeleteWho cares?
DeleteI feel like I'm killing some of these restaurants... I haven't gone to them like I used to, and I guess others have done the same! I used to like them like 4 years ago, but even though I moved closer to them, I've maybe gone once in the last year. The pricing did creep up though
ReplyDeleteone less person going to a restaurant barely makes a difference ... it's all about the bigger picture . if their prices were lower maybe they wouldn't have went out of business , but cheaper prices means more work
DeleteLong time republican voting blue for the first time in November. Can't believe people still support that Grifter in Chief, most corrupt president I''ve ever seen! Whatever happened to GOP of Reagan, Bush, Mccain, Romney, I miss decent human beings and adults being in charge instead of manchilds.
ReplyDeleteYou can't and shouldn't vote for parties, vote for who has the best ideas and the best, realistic way to achieve them. That said, why aren't you talking about the actual story that this post is about? Or are you saying that policies killed this restaurant too?
DeleteJust curious, why do you think this is the appropriate forum for such a comment?. I say this with all peace and love: literally no one here cares what you think about politics, and you have a major personality issue if you truly think this is an acceptable forum for remarks like this.
DeleteVoted for the petulant child in 2016 and thought I'd learned my lesson. Did not vote in '20. Held my nose and voted against the laughing, brainless hyena in 24. I don't regret it, but sometimes I wonder. I do know this, the current brat in charge has single handedly pretty much destroyed any chance the Republicans ever had of ever being in charge again. And he doesn't care.
DeleteWhat does this have to do with a sandwich place?
DeleteI was on Chastain road one time and had to use the restroom so I pulled into a gas station, got gas and used the restroom. Republican presidents made this freedom possible.
DeleteAnon @ 5:12 pm: did you get gas, then use the restroom, or did you use the restroom, THEN get gas? The order is very important.
DeleteI used the restroom and then got gas. But in between I went inside and paid for the gas with a twenty dollar bill I had. I also thought about getting a Coca Cola that I would drink by pouring it into my mouth but worried it would make me need to use the bathroom again so I abstained
DeleteThe president allows me to poop in the public potty. USA poopy!
DeleteBoth parties are corrupt and anyone who votes along party lines is a sheep. Sandwiches for president in 2028!
ReplyDeleteI like sandwiches.
DeleteSandwiches go bad. I like food that doesn't go bad. Honey for president in 2028!
DeleteBecause politics, or at least cultural politics, are behind 90% of the posts on this website. Even if totally inappropriate and remote from the actual topics at issue. You can't fix dumb.
