With the pending closure, staff took jobs elsewhere and management was not going to hire to staff for only two weeks of business. Sad considering Valentine's Day, but that's how it went down.Atlantan99https://www.blogger.com/profile/06115362060612910966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-76194321317432437562011-02-07T13:52:13.213-05:002011-02-07T13:52:13.213-05:00The Craft signs are off the building as of Sat. ni...The Craft signs are off the building as of Sat. night. Atlanta has shown that in most cases it will not support a "celebrity" chef.

I'd say one of the chains that was going to open at Streets of Buckhead like La Goulue or Japonais. Perhaps, though, even they are too unfamiliar to fickle Atlanta diners.

Il Mulino still lists on their website as looking for another location in Atlanta. Perhaps they can give it a better go in Buckhead.

If all else fails, a second location of Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles would probably work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-39904582550095643332011-02-04T09:55:08.968-05:002011-02-04T09:55:08.968-05:00Oddly enough, I think a spa would be better suited...Oddly enough, I think a spa would be better suited in that space. Unless they're somehow able to get a Smith & Wollensky or Pastis-type restaurant with a name people recognize, and food that isn't "in-the-moment" like fro-yo, $10 burgers, or farm to table. I'm aware Davio's is down the street, so an Italian place would be great to compete with Maggiano's higher-end clientele. ORRR a chinese restaurant! Really Eli?!?! It's a zero sum game, we are way "over-restauranted" with high end offerings. People aren't magically eating more $150 meals just because they have more options.SBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-81070273954971723072011-02-04T07:29:08.470-05:002011-02-04T07:29:08.470-05:00craft's new closing date is feb 10.
