They had a decent selection several years ago, but no longer have much to speak of. But thanks for the insight into the actual HomeGoods stores!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-21548615613492833622012-03-29T17:25:36.898-04:002012-03-29T17:25:36.898-04:00Good to hear that was of help.
With regards to yo...Good to hear that was of help.

With regards to your Homegoods question, there is no simple answer. For the most part merchandise is distributed to stores based on income of surrounding zipcodes though at times you'll find something out of place like Neiman Marcus level items in a store in Stone Mountain. Some of this is due to returns and exchanges, some is simply the stores testing new merchandise. I think there will always be "stuff" to be sold in stores like Homegoods, just a matter of if it's bought / made for Homegoods or was purchased from another department or specialty store out of season.

I hope this helps.Atlantan99https://www.blogger.com/profile/06115362060612910966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-27686450394753258082012-03-29T15:29:55.690-04:002012-03-29T15:29:55.690-04:00Atlantan99....thanks for your detailed explanation...Atlantan99....thanks for your detailed explanation to my question about the markdown policy; yes, it did help. I have also noticed that the selection of accessories and homegoods is not as extensive as it was when the Buford store opened.....just MHO. I can't help but think that the more stores they open, the leaner the selection becomes at other stores. Does that make any sense?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-62645196851527950592012-03-27T22:51:30.435-04:002012-03-27T22:51:30.435-04:00Hi Anon RE Markdown policies,
Bascially from what...Hi Anon RE Markdown policies,

Bascially from what I can tell. In the past items were marked with % off stickers like 35% , 50% etc. ,the longer they sat, the greater the percentage off, up to 75%. Now rather than % off stickers of various colors, they use a standard red sticker that as the item sits, further reduces the price. This seems similar but it also seems to take longer between markdowns. Clearly this was done to prevent fraud amongst consumers, preventing the removal of a % sticker to have it put on another item.

I will say, on rare occasions, I have found items marked "final clearance" that are usually 90% off the original price. I have found such items since the changeover but it is VERY rare and sizes and styles are often bottom of the barrel.

Thanks for reading and thanks for the question, hope this helped.Atlantan99https://www.blogger.com/profile/06115362060612910966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-44404390439104069102012-03-27T22:40:52.367-04:002012-03-27T22:40:52.367-04:00You are right; the deals used to be much better. ...You are right; the deals used to be much better.
