I'm planning on making a trip out there with my wife pretty soon and we can't wait. I was initially scared of thin crust because it tends to be hard, but trying my friends' pizzas, they were really good. I had never had a meatball sub before, but I thought it was pretty good too. The people were really friendly, the place has awesome colors, and it's a nice place to catch up with friends.Lauren Spiegelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13141655804450127638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-59280842883090852852009-01-25T04:05:00.000-05:002009-01-25T04:05:00.000-05:00I've read the reviews about Maddio's and t...I've read the reviews about Maddio's and they have strangely been very good or very bad.....Hmmmmm. I went to do some investigating for myself today.
When I first got there I was greeted kindly by a guy named Shaq (I think). He was all smiles and as far as I'm concerned the service was great. He told me that I could make my own pizza but I've heard so much about this BBQ pizza (blog blog blog) that I ordered it to take home and also ordered the Tuscan Meatball to eat in.
The Good- The BBQ pizza is as good as blogged about. No kidding its really good and I have no complaints. In fact I'll be back just for this pizza.

Critiques-- The sub was actually really good. However I'm not a sauce guy and they really load on the marinara, cheese, and toppings (like the previous blogger reported). If you're into alot of extras on your sub then I'd recommend it. However it was too much for me. The good thing about this however is that you can make your own sub. So next time I'll just get less sauce.
Anyway I think this is quite an original idea. I don't know any other places where you can customize your own pizza. There were definitely some kinks that I noticed (took longer than I expected) however as Proshopp says its only been open a few weeks.
That's my honest assesment of the place. I'd go check it out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-7580462634190407292009-01-24T21:15:00.000-05:002009-01-24T21:15:00.000-05:00Not sure what the guy above is talking about a con...Not sure what the guy above is talking about a confusing menu? I guess he's not the brightest of bee's...?
Well I can't speak for the subs however I can say that the BBQ chicken pizza is the best around!!! I think it ranks with CPK. I'm not sure where the guy got his information on the crust? They make it in front of you--not frozen. If you're gona knock something, at least try it man-you obviously didn't!!
Now the service was a little slow, however the place has only been open a week. And ProShopp 99, it's funny that you saw those guys in there b/c when I was there I saw Shane from Shane's Rib Shack, lolol!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-89159688580978931852009-01-16T15:56:00.000-05:002009-01-16T15:56:00.000-05:00Jumped the Shark - perhaps the worst meal I have e...Jumped the Shark - perhaps the worst meal I have ever had in Atlanta. Sorry Maddio's - price is high - food quality very low - menu confusing - crust - I would not call it crust unless you like frozen premade cardboard - sorry this is not real pizza nor subs. Hint you can get much better from Subway or Quiznos and at half the price. My lunch was $10 bucks for a pizza and soda. Crazy - if you want real food go elsewhere - Shorty's is a great alternative to real food or heck I would hit Pizza hut or Papa Johns 10x before I return. Stay away yuck yuck yuckAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-29730734209507269272009-01-10T19:46:00.000-05:002009-01-10T19:46:00.000-05:00On a recent visit I decided to try one of the toas...On a recent visit I decided to try one of the toasted subs as I had tried the pizza on a previous visit. I ordered the Tuscan meatball sub on whole wheat bread. Verification of what meat the meatballs were took a bit long as well as the overall prep of the item. I dont know how Subway does theirs, but this sub was terrible. The bread soggy(and bagged not fresh), the meatballs ok, but not great and the excessive sause was a royal pain. I should have just ordered meatballs because I ended up just eating it without the bread.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-2086201624798695042009-01-10T15:13:00.000-05:002009-01-10T15:13:00.000-05:00Interesting to spot Richard Chey of Doc Chey's...Interesting to spot Richard Chey of Doc Chey's , Stella and Osteria 832 dining with his daughters in Maddio's today. I've never been one for "fast food pizza" but this place really does pizza justice and manages to make a really tasty and unique pie that is served fast and fresh. I will definitely come back and recommend it to all of my friends.Wasserbloggerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06057082343295156210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-28560975901037544332009-01-02T21:11:00.000-05:002009-01-02T21:11:00.000-05:00I went in today for what I believe to be the first...I went in today for what I believe to be the first day.. It was excellent!! I had a personal pizza for what seemed like a good deal for what I got (6 bucks).. The toppings were on point with the best pizza place's in Atlanta. The crust was a bit different then what I'm used to and my verdict is still out on that. All in all, a good deal...
-foodU2Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-579719431387122896.post-41017024757214919212009-01-01T12:43:00.000-05:002009-01-01T12:43:00.000-05:00I was at the soft opening with family and friends ...I was at the soft opening with family and friends on Monday. I knew just a few of the people there very loosely. The placed was packed.

The from scratch pizzas were rolling off the conveyor belt every 5 min 20 sec. I never saw so many different kinds to sample. People were clammoring for their favorite type to arrive. I tried some, like the hawaiian pizza, and the chicken salad pizza, that I never would have sampled anywhere else. They had a gourmet look and taste to them.
