Bob Amick is at it again, this time entering the Pizza business. Max's Coal Oven Pizzeria will open next door to fellow Concentrics concept STATS later this spring. Serving a variety of fare including authentic New York style pizza, pastas and salads, the eatery will also serve " coal oven wings" in their 1000-degree coal-fired pizza oven. Though some may say Amick entered the pizza business with his rare failure that was Piebar, this new concept sounds like a winner and is going in an area that has limited pizza options since the abrupt closing of Slice Pizza on Howell Mill last year.
