Baba Louz Taking Shuttered Broad Street Cafe

Baba Louz wasted no time in grabbing the restaurant space occupied by Broad Street Cafe at 66 Broad Street until about three weeks ago. Soon after the cafe's closure, I got word that a new tenant was already lined up. The sign pictured went up within the past week, and I'm told they hope to be open by mid April. Baba Louz will apparently be very similar to Broad Street Cafe, minus some options. Sandwiches, pastas and salads are said to dominate the offerings but the menu is still in the planning stages. Claudio F, Broad Street Cafe's owner, may have closed it to focus on expanding his wildly popular Reuben's Deli, now accepting potential franchisees for Atlanta and the southeast. There has been a lot of turnover on Broad Street in the past couple of years with Juicy Green, Tin Drum Asia Cafe, Wonderful World of Burgers and Fries and Checkers opening while Bruster's sits empty in the Aderhold Learning Center (GSU) ToNeTo Atlanta

Why did they close? They had a great $5 footlong sub sandwich.

Hey Broc,

Claudio opted to sell it to focus on the growth of his more successful Reuben's concept. Franchised locations should be opening within the year in the metro.

Thanks for the comment and for reading!
