L.K. Bennett, a London-based luxury retailer, will open just their second American location at Phipps Plaza later this year. Taking the remaining portion of the old Niketown space on the first level, L.K. Bennett will join VINCE and Davio's Italian Steakhouse in that area of the mall. The chain's only existing (non leased) location in the states is in Chicago on Michigan Avenue. L.K. Bennett does have four leased locations within Bloomingdale's stores. The Bloomingdale's in which they are located are some of my favorites, including Tyson's Corner near D.C., 59th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, in addition to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and The Shops at Riverside in New Jersey.
Linda Kristin (LK) Bennett opened her first retail store in Wimbledon Village in London in 1990 and started selling footwear. The line has now expanded to clothing and accessories and is a favorite of soon to be Princess Kate Middleton.
PS: In men's news, a reader informed me that Brooks Brothers has closed their store in downtown Atlanta at the Mall at Peachtree Center. The store closed a few weeks ago from what I understand, but its closure seems to have gone largely unnoticed. This was the store's second location having already moved north on Peachtree from their previous location near Marietta and Peachtree. Brooks Brothers continues to operate stores in both Lenox Square and Perimeter Mall as well as a location at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Davison's /Macy's, Rich's, and Payless shoes have all closed in the vicinity, not to mention the Gap store that closed its Underground Atlanta location years ago.

Downtown Atlanta is absolutely pathetic.
