Ludacris Flying South to Open New Eatery at Hartsfield-Jackson ; Closing Straits

GRAMMY Award winning recording artist Chris "Ludacris" Bridges is finally pulling the plug on his midtown eatery Straits.  The restaurant, specializing in Singaporean cuisine was never that popular with Atlantans and its closure is not surprising.  Straits was an existing restaurant in San Francisco, run by chef Chris Yeo, who was a partner in the Atlanta location.  It's my understanding that all California locations, of which there are three, and a Houston location will all remain open.

Yesterday Ludacris announced via the @StraitsATL twitter account that " Straits Atlanta will not be open this week for New Year renovations... Sorry for the inconvenience..." and minutes later (via his personal @Ludacris account) announced that he had won contract to open a restaurant at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.  While at time time it seemed both would be open, I received the confirmation that the airport eatery will actually be in place of the midtown restaurant.  

Chicken & Beer, a restaurant that will feature "comfort food and craft beers" will open on Concourse D of the airport and is presumably named for the rapper's 2003 studio album "Chicken-n-Beer.
