Why Are These Concepts Not Widely Available in Atlanta?

A while back I spoke of introducing you to the "new & next" in the retail and restaurant and hotel industries.  My first New&Next featured C. Wonder, a store that last year was little known
in Atlanta and today has a new location now open at Lenox Square

Due in part to a new work schedule and many other contributing factors, this has not happened as regularly as I had hoped.  That being said, please find two restaurants below that have yet to make their way to the metro but that I see as likely to expand further into the metro sooner rather than later.

Greensboro, North Carolina-based Cook-Out was started in 1989 and now has over 100 locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.  The chain serves burgers, fries, a ridiculous variety of milkshakes and other fast food items.

Similar to Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, the chain is biblical based business, which features bible verses on their cups and plays Christian music in its stores.  The chain has taken no public stance on gay marriage which may be wise given the firestorm Chick-fil-A has endured after its CEO made his personal beliefs those of the company.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits was started in 1977 and now has nearly 500 locations across ten states plus the District of Columbia and two location in Honduras. The chain has over 50 locations in Georgia but basically all of them are either OTP or south of the city.  The chain did announce it would add nine new stores in Georgia by the end of the year and seven more next year but none will be really close in. Villa Rica, Lithia Springs and Tifton.

Chick-fil-A does over $3 billion in sales whereas Bojangles expects to eclipse $1 billion in two years.

There are a number of former Checkers intown that I think would be great for Cook Out.  The two restaurant have similarly small footprints and each have layouts with zero inside dining.

A restaurant that has opted not to disclose its name has expressed interest in a small parcel in Tucker that from what I know about the space and the projected design seems perfect for a CookOut.  I contacted CookOut and they said they may someday enter Atlanta but there are no definitive plans.

What chain would you like to see expand into Atlanta?

Whataburger doesn't seem to be able to make it in Georgia. Two of their three Georgia stores shut down, but I think there is still one in Thomasville.

@Grant those GA locations were way out of the way. I know a lot of TX transplants in Atlanta that could support a Whataburger if they brought in a location to town.

There's a Pei Wei in the International Terminal at ATL.
