Yoforia Closes 5th OTP Location?

Atlanta-based Yoforia has closed yet another location.

The FyoYo craze seems to be melting faster OTP these days as a reader tells me that Yoforia recently closed their Perimeter Pointe location on Mount Vernon Highway in the Regal Cinemas side of the center.

Yoforia began in the summer of 2007 with three locations: one in Alpharetta on Windward Parkway, another in Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, and another on Highland Avenue in Morningside. The chain began to offer franchising after their early success, and has since opened locations in Connecticut and North Carolina in addition to a number of international markets.

Locally, the brand has fallen on hard times as a number of locations have closed.  Of their original three locations, only their Morningside outpost remains open, not to mention other closures in the Exchange at Hammond off Roswell Road, Kennesaw on Chastain Road and in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.    Ironically, when the Hammond location closed "temporarily for the holiday season" this past year, it was to the Perimeter Pointe location that management directed patrons to go.

Yoforia's Perimeter Mall location was reopened last month as Cloud 9 Yogurt & Cupcakes while their Hammond location will reopen soon as FroZyogo, another frozen yogurt shop.

What should replace Yoforia at Perimeter Pointe? Popcorn?  Ice Cream? More FroYo?

I think it is fair to say that Atlanta has enough burger and yogurt places now. At least you have a single reason to go there, they have nothing I want! Here's to hoping for a successful Buckhead Atlanta.
