Toscano & Sons Wants You to Mangiare in Virginia-Highland

Toscano & Sons is coming to Virginia-Highland.

Toscano & Sons, the casual Italian restaurant and market which closed this past June at its location on the westside, will reopen later this fall in Virginia-Highland.  At the time of their closure, ownership said they were working to secure a new location, and this appears to be the realization of that pledge.   Toscano & Sons will open in place of the former Stanton home furnishing shop which itself relocated to a larger, neighboring space.

Ownership hopes to have the Toscano & Sons open "sometime in late November if not sooner."

Toscano & Sons was one of the original tenants of the Brickworks development when it opened in 2006, and while small, it had a cult-like following.

Interestingly, Toscano & Sons' former space was said to be a new pizza restaurant called 850°F Bar Pizza, but after coming soon signs came down a few weeks ago, the space seems available once again.

Isn't this the same location where Bella Cucina failed? Strange choice.

@Anon,

Funny you should mention Bella Cucina.

They were at that location and also another adjacent to it. Their bankruptcy filing was business related not location related.

Thanks for your comments and readership.
