The Bishop Makes its Move in Avondale Estates

The Bishop is coming to Avondale Estates.

Luellen Marshall will open The Bishop next year in historic Avondale Village.  Marshall, a 20 year hospitality veteran and longtime Avondale Estates resident, had sought for some time to open her own restaurant and is now making that dream a reality.  The restaurant gets its name from Luellen's son, Bishop.

The Bishop will be a neighborhood restaurant featuring locally-inspired, American fare and will be located at 124 North Avondale Road, just a block down from  the new Pallookaville Fine Foods.  Pallookaville opened last week and has been a popular spot since opening night.  I've visited once and witnessed a number of parties waiting to be seated and was informed by management that wait times for lunch had been as much as an hour long over the weekend.  Given what seems to be pent up demand for casual, neighborhood dining, The Bishop should be a welcome addition to the area.

The Bishop's space is located in a Tudor style building, like Pallookaville and sits at the corner of North Clarendon Avenue & North Avondale Road.
