Twisted Taco Getting Flipped in Buckhead?

Twisted Taco calls it quits in Buckhead.

Atlanta-based Twisted Taco has closed its north Buckhead location on Wieuca Road.  The Tex-Mex eatery, located near Fellini's Pizza, had been on my DeathWatch for months and its closure comes as little surprise.  The restaurant's official last day of service was Sunday March 16th.

Twisted Taco has closed a number of locations over the past couple of years including one at the East West Connector in Smyrna, at Park Place in Dunwoody, on Northlake Parkway in Tucker, and on George Busbee Parkway  in Kennesaw.

A sign posted on the door of the Buckhead location reads "Closed, New Concept Coming Soon."

While this could very well mean that there is something new in the works, this may instead be Twisted Taco's own way of saying "closed for renovations."

A representative at the restaurant this week was quoted to have said that while he could not disclose the "new concept," he did say it would not open for "six to eight months."

Well considering Twisted Taco sucks, it's really no wonder..

I wish people would learn, one slightly successful spot does not a franchise make. Seems to happen a lot these days.

That sucks. It was a great Auburn bar.

I still cannot believe the one is still open in Suwanee, unless it just gets overflow from the Taco Mac right next door. They had terrible service and attitude form the very first day they opened.

Agreed, TT's food was terrible. That spot has NO parking, I don't know why the landlord doesn't just bulldoze that building and rent it to Fellini's and La Fonda for parking. The franchisee spent a lot on renovations for this location, adding a story, all those TVs, etc.

Awful location and bad food. It never seemed packed either. Was always curious as to why they chose that location.

I agree that it is shocking the Twisted Taco in Suwanee is still open, based on the food, service, atmosphere (I think they have booths that look like jail cells), etc. However, they are almost finished with a pretty impressive 2-story patio addition, so either somebody eats they or they are willing to spend a lot of money in hopes that people will come.

As a twice a month visitor to Twisted Taco in Suwanee I was usually satisfied with my service and food. I will sit outside at the new bar and watch people park in there parking lot and walk over to Taco Mac. I never really understood why because I have always been mostly satisfied. My opinion changed when I showed up at 8pm on a Saturday night. They had lots of help on staff and I sat in a booth at the bar area. The lady that sat me was very friendly. Once I ordered and my food came I asked for mustard. 7 minutes later I asked again And waited while the manager and a waitress were hugging at the bar. I notified people departing and two employees at the greeting area never say a word to them. They were to busy chatting. Food was good but all you have to do is watch the manager and the employees and you realize why all these people go to the Taco Mac next door instead. The owner needs to send the hired help to Chick Fil A or QT to learn about customer service. I hope they make it but am really surprised they have lasted.
