Bits & Bites

A look inside the new 7 Hens in Sandy Springs
A new Seven Hens chicken schnitzel eatery opened last week at Abernathy Square.  The first Seven Hens opened in July 2012 in Decatur at North Decatur Plaza.  The new Sandy Springs location is celebrating its grand opening today from 6pm until 8pm.

A new Bealls Outlet will open soon in Kennesaw at 2500 Cobb Place Lane.   The Kennesaw store follows the recent opening in Columbus and upcoming opening in Cartersville.

North Palm Beach, Florida-based BurgerFi opened its fifth Atlanta area location this past Saturday at CNN Center in downtown Atlanta.  The new eatery is located adjacent to Fresh to Order and opened in place of what was originally announced to be a Five Guys.  BurgerFi's CNN Center location is reportedly the first in the company to offer a breakfast menu.

The newly relocated Marshalls in Sandy Springs is slated to open November 13th.  The off-price retailer will close its current location at Marshalls Plaza on Saturday.  The new Marshalls will open in a former ROSS Dress For Less storefront in the Exchange at Hammond.  Marshalls had been at Marshalls Plaza since 1980.

Osteria del Figo has closed in the Westside Provisions District and has opened in its new home on Marietta Street.  Now located at 907 Marietta Street and known as simply FIGO Pasta, the new FIGO joins bartaco and Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand as new eateries in the area.  Le Fat, from chef Guy Wong, should open soon in the former Yum Bunz space.

Wokdragon is now open in the Fashion Cafe at Lenox Square.  The owners of wokdragon closed their Cafe Supreme restaurant in the Fashion Cafe once the new concept opened.  While I have not tried the food at wokdragon yet, it looks very similar to Cafe Supreme but with a fresh, branded look and feel.

Boston Proper plans to open November 7th in a portion of the former Calvin Klein on the second floor of Lenox Square near Neiman Marcus.  Sister concept Soma Intimates opened a few weeks ago in another portion of the former CK space.

The former Freshii has finally been boarded up in Lenox Square's Fashion Cafe.  Freshii opened in April and abruptly closed in early August citing a leak from CPK (directly above them) as the cause of their closure.

The at&t Store of The Future has opened in the Fashion Cafe at Lenox Square.  The store replaces Great Wraps, Chick-fil-A and Sbarro and offers assorted products and services from at&t.

The former at&t store in the Lenox Square Fashion Cafe will soon reopen as Take 5 Newsstand.

Chef Jay Swift (of Old Fourth Ward's 4th & Swift restaurant) and partners plan to open Noble Fin, a new "contemporary American and Mediterranean inspired restaurant and bar" in Peachtree Corners next summer.  The new restaurant will be built in place of the former Dreamland BBQ at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Peachtree Corners Circle in an outparcel of the Village at Peachtree Corners shopping center.  Dreamland's building was destroyed by an accidental fire in January of last year and the building was subsequently leveled.  The Village at Peachtree Corners is already home to a Flying Biscuit Cafe, Marco's Pizza and Tuesday Morning and will next year welcome a 23,500 square foot Earth Fare grocery store as its anchor.

A new Holiday Inn Express is planned for South Main Street in Helen, Georgia.  The new 87 room hotel is slated to open in June, 2016 and will be located adjacent to Hansel & Gretel Candy Kitchen.

Eli,

Any info on the opening date of Bantam & Biddy at Lenox? Love that place.

@Anon,

According to a rep for B&B, they plan to open at Lenox Square in "a couple of weeks." This has reportedly been the same line for the past month. With the Avalon location now open, hopefully this latest two week estimate is accurate.

Thanks for your comments and readership.

Has that awful Pure Denim finally closed at Lenox?

@Anon RE: Pure Denim,

Amazingly after a relocation and a downsize, they remain open in the "luxury wing." I'd hope that they are finally cut from the roster after the holiday season.

Thanks for your comments and readership.

The relocated Marshalls only took a portion of the former Ross. Any idea what is opening in the remaining space, or Suite B? Looks like work is already being done.

@Anon RE: Marshalls,

I saw that too but don't know of anyone going in as of yet.

Thanks for the comments and readership.
