[UPDATE] Cafe Posh Has Closed in Fountain Oaks, Cupanions Opening Soon

After 17 years in Fountain Oaks shopping center in Sandy Springs, Cafe Posh has closed. The Mediterranean influenced cafe closed last week with plans to reopen in about a month in Buckhead.  The new Buckhead outpost will open in the street level retail of Hanover Buckhead Village, the new luxury high-rise apartment building at the corner of Irby Avenue & Roswell Road.

The new restaurant, measuring 1,506 square feet according to the property's site-plan, will be slightly larger than the previous location which was 1,372 square feet.

Cafe Posh offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and will reportedly feature an improved coffee program at their new location.   In addition to the Buckhead location, owner Simona Edery has plans to open a second location at Gateway, the Sprouts Farmers Market anchored shopping center just south of Fountain Oaks on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs.

With no current vacancies in Gateway, it's unclear where exactly it Cafe Posh will open, but all signs point to a current tenant leaving.

The former Cafe Posh in Fountain Oaks has already been leased and is expected to reopen in the coming months as "Cupanions Kitchen & Coffee" a new eatery from Patricia (Homma) and Rob of Buckhead Home-Chef Service.

Cupanions is described as:

"A Neighborhood Breakfast & Lunch cafe offering hand crafted foods and specialty coffees and teas. Utilizing fresh quality ingredients made by passionate people that care about your Wellbeing."
Cupanions expects to open in the coming months.

Are you surprised that Cafe Posh plans to open not one, but two, new locations?  What is your favorite restaurant in the Gateway project?  Does the idea behind Cupanions sound good to you?

Verde Taqueria closed in the Gateway Shopping Center over the weekend. Café Posh seems like a good backfill for this restaurant space.
