QuikTrip has finally opened on Buford Highway in an outparcel of Northeast Plaza, adjacent to Pizza Hut in Brookhaven. It's smaller format location across the street, at the corner of North Cliff Valley Way and Buford Highway, has closed.

Yet another location of LA-based Poke Bar  is coming to North Point Marketcenter on North Point Parkway in Alpharetta.

ALEX and ANI plans to open a new location at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody.  The Cranston, RI-based jewelry store has existing Atlanta area locations at Lenox Square in Buckhead and Ponce City Market in Old Fourth Ward.

Ben & Jerry's plans to celebrate their return to intown Atlanta with the opening of their new scoop shop at 312 North Highland Avenue at Elizabeth Street in Inman Park.  A grand opening celebration is planned for tomorrow, Saturday August 4, from noon until 8PM, and will include music, giveaways, henna art and face painting.  Ben & Jerry's closed its former intown location at 800 North Highland Avenue in 2011 after 15 years in business.

The owners of Mambo Italiano are opening a second location in place of the shuttered Boneheads at The Shoppes at Powers Ferry on Powers Ferry Road not far from SunTrust Park.  Boneheads closed this past February and has been vacant since.  The original Mambo Italiano is beside Belk in The Forum on Peachtree Parkway in Norcross/Peachtree Corners.  Zeus Greek Street Food, which opened last year in place of Doc Greens, is owned by the same group as Mambo Italiano.  (Boneheads and Doc Greens were also both once Raving Brands concepts.)

That Boneheads on Powers Ferry did a banging lunch biz and was very different. Not sure why it couldn't make it work. If executed fast a QUALITY wood-fired pizza joint could do well there. They'll have to cater to the office drones and do good happy hours and apps, forget about much traffic past 7:30pm.

That QT was the first location I ever visited when I first moved to ATL in January of 1991. It was right before the first Gulf War, and I remember gas prices being 71/81/91 cents a gallon! I am not a fan of the new, 3rd generation QT layouts now (with doors on both sides and 2 in the front), but still love QT to this day.
