[EXCLUSIVE] Turkish Furniture Store Lazzoni to Open New Showroom in Buckhead

A Turkish furniture store plans to open just its fourth U.S. store next year in Atlanta.  The new Lazzoni showroom, to be located at 3178 Peachtree Road, will open in place of the former Huff Furniture, which closed last year after 61 years in business.  The Huff building was demolished to allow a completely new building to be constructed.

According to the company's website, the Lazzoni family has been manufacturing furniture since 1905.

Permits filed with the City of Atlanta indicate that the new building will be nearly 5,000 square feet, about 1,000 square feet smaller than its predecessor.  At least $440,000 will be spent building the new store.  Although not yet reflected in Fulton County property records, Selig Enterprises, who already owned the center adjacent to Lazzoni, Peachtree Plaza, reportedly purchased the Huff site from a Huff family controlled partnership.

Currently, Lazzoni, which specializes in modern furniture, operates three U.S. showrooms in Chelsea and Madison Avenue, New York as well as Paramus, New Jersey.

Lazzoni joins a crowded and competitive furniture market in Buckhead.

Ligne Roset, Roche Bobois, Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Frontgate, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Ethan Allen, Rooms To Go, Haverty's and Modani already have outposts on or just off of Peachtree Road.  Others like Mathews, a local retailer that specializes in Baker, The Dump, a discount retailer, and Now & Again, a luxury furniture consignment store, also have locations in the Buckhead area.

BoConcept, a Denmark-based furniture retailer, closed its short-lived Buckhead showroom this past April, a little more than a year after making their Atlanta debut.

Artefacto, a Brazilian furniture store with a presence in Miami, previously had a showroom on Peachtree Road in Buckhead, but closed it in 2009 after about three years in business.
