Opa! THE GREEK Opening In Sweet Auburn Curb Market

Always a fan of gyros, I was pleased to see another lunchtime option moving into the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. I'm told the owner looked at the then vacant Broad Street Cafe space but opted for the "vibrancy" of the curb market. A wise decision, considering virtually every other eatery on Broad offers gyros. Taking a space that most recently housed DiRienzo's Deli, THE GREEK is set to open April 14 and will serve traditional Greek cuisine along with pizza and salads. John Gianoulidis left the real estate business to open the eatery and says his parents came from Greece in 1963 and he grew up in their pizzeria in Connecticut. His two older brothers operate Christo's Pizza in East Cobb. Alex Brounstein's Grindhouse Killer Burgers was the catalyst for the resurgence of the market, now it's nice to see other entrepreneurs giving the place a shot. I LOVE the Sweet Auburn Curb Market and am so excited another business is moving in. Good Luck! Hopefully this will encourage more businesses to open and the Curb Market will become the hub of commerce and activity it should be!
