The Sandy Springs location will make use of the former Nothing But Noodles space on Roswell Road. Nothing But Noodles never really caught on locally, yet somehow stayed open for 5 or 6 years, if memory serves. Similar to the far more popular and successful Noodles & Co.(Not yet in Atlanta), Nothing But Noodles' failure is somewhat of a surprise until you think about whether you ever saw an ad or commercial, or really any marketing for them.
Adjacent to the upcoming Smashburger, Atlanta-based Focus Brands will open one of their Moe's Southwest Grill restaurants. I don't recall the space ever having housed anything, but it basically mimics the look and size of the Nothing But Noodles to the right. Moe's had slowed growth in the Atlanta market but evidently they saw this as a good location not to be passed up. Not far away, where currently Hearth Pizza is located, Baja Fresh once operated a location but it closed around 2006. Just south on Roswell, Chipotle Mexican Grill has an endcap location in the shopping center anchored by Lefont Theaters and Tuesday Morning.
Both of these deals were just completed, so work is just now underway. Under the assumption that the city of Sandy Springs does not throw up any significant roadblocks, both eateries could be open by year-end.
