Resurgens Bank Finds New Home in Former Fuddruckers

Resurgens Bank will soon relocate their existing Tucker area branch from Henderson Mill Road to the former Fuddruckers in Northlake Festival.  There had been talk of Olive Garden looking at the space, as well as both CVS Pharmacy and Walgreen's, but alas, it's just a relocating bank.  There has been so much interest and development in the area, I was kinda hoping for something more meaningful than a bank, but hey, it's something.

The Northlake Fuddruckers closed in April 2010, along with a number of other area locations and had been vacant until now.

I'm told the bank will only renovate the building rather than demolish it and start from scratch.  No opening timetable was available, but I'd guess Resurgens will be open by the summer.

What do you think of Resurgens opening?  What would you have liked to see open in the Fuddruckers space? Are you a fan of the new area additions like Chipotle, Panda Express (opening in April) and Krystal Too  (opening March 12)?  Please share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Well, I suppose it's something. At least the Fuddruckers space won't be an empty eyesore anymore.

Frankly, I'm not a fan of the Panda Express that's opening in the Michaels parking lot. I was up at Michaels the other day and it looks completely out of place with the rest of the shopping center (which honestly could use a facelift). It looks like someone just dropped a restaurant down in the middle of the parking lot. I'm also not a fan of how much parking it takes up. That parking lot was already a little tricky and now it's even worse.

I had hoped Red Lobster would take over Fuddruckers instead of renovating their existing site. Better, safer parking for RL customers, and then Kroger could have installed their gas station on the current RL site.

Boooo!

Over the years we've lost: Del Taco, Showbiz Pizza (Steak and Shake before that), Fuddruckers and instead just get one bank after another.

We do have some money at resurgens and they did give our kids a nice play money set, though.

Makes sense for Resurgens. I was over at Bambanelli's Sunday using the scoutmob and saw that hidden Resurgens there. I'm still pissed about Fudd. Should leave the site empty for all-time as a momument.

I agree with your new pick of Artuzzi's on Windward. This shopping center is located in a place that gets a nice office crowd for lunch but is a ghost town for dinner and on weekends. Artuzzi's is trying a new marketing campaign to get families there at night, but it may be too little too late.

@ Lee,

Thoughts on Von Maur?

With as much national advertising it does, I am surprised Red Robin doesn't have a stronger imprint in town. Thought that would've made a good spot for them.

But glad to see more development in the Northlake area and hope it continues.

Glad to see Resurgens doing well and moving to a bigger, more visible location. I bank there and am very happy with their service. Unfortunately, the new location will not be as convenient for me. I agree with the comments about Panda Express across the street...what were they thinking?! I hope they install a bigger sign for Blue Ribbon Grill and the other stores since you can't see them now!

hi Scotty,
What a wonderful idea! ..I’m really interested in hearing how much the design of the star means to people.
