Bits & Bites

Charlotte, North Carolina based Bojangles' is finally making good on its promise to expand its presence in Georgia. Bojangle's already has over 30 locations in Georgia, but in late 2010 announced plans to grow their store count via both corporate and franchised locations by as many as 25 stores over the next five years.  Soon the biscuit chain will take over a former
El Pollo Loco restaurant in Douglasville, and is also building a restaurant in Villa Rica.  Personally, I'm still waiting for them to penetrate ITP, as I recently had a chicken biscuit at their Buford location and I gotta say, it was pretty damn good.

San Diego, California based Road Runner Sports will soon be opening their second Atlanta area location, this  in Merchants Walk in East Cobb.  The sports retailer opened their first location in Powers Ferry Shopping Center last year. The new Merchants Walk location will be located adjacent to Stein Mart and is scheduled to open in July.

Cypress, California based VANS "Off The Wall" is entering the Atlanta market in a big way.  The popular sports apparel retailer, popular for their colorful shoes, is opening new locations in  Lenox Square in Buckhead, Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw, and the Mall of Georgia in Buford.  When the Mall of Georgia opened in 1999, it had a VANS skate park inside, but the park and accompanying mini retail outpost have since closed.  The new retail stores are expected to open later this summer.

Alexis' Suitcase just opened their third consignment store.  The consignment shop started in Sandy Springs and later added a location in Johns Creek.  The Buckhead location celebrated its grand opening this past weekend.  The store carries new and used apparel and accessories at "reduced" prices.  The Buckhead location is located on Peachtree Road in the same shopping center as Cami Cakes and Firehouse Subs.
