J. Crew plans to open later this year in Building C of the complex. For those unfamiliar, Building C is situated between Buildings A / parking deck and D, which houses Abattoir as well as retailers Jack Spade and Billy Reid, among others.
Interestingly, sources tell me that this J. Crew is slated to be a women's only store, the first second one of its kind in Georgia. J. Crew's Mall of Georgia store opened along with the mall in 1999, with both men's and women's clothing and accessories. A couple of years back, the retailer removed men's from the store but kept it open as a women's only location. Last April, the store brought men's back to the store. J. Crew's Avenue East Cobb currently operates as women's only, but I recall it having originally been both men's and women's.
The westside J. Crew will mark the 7th full line (minus men's) store for J. Crew. J. Crew also operates Commerce, Dawsonville and Locust Grove outlet stores. J. Crew's slightly less expensive and women's only Madewell division has area locations in Lenox Square and Perimeter Mall.
J. Crew's successful Lenox Square store is rumored to either be getting the brand's crewcuts children's division, or its bridal line as part of a planned store expansion later this year.
As far as the westside goes, J. Crew is joining a rather select group of retailers, many of whom operate but one area location, in the Westside Provisions District.
Jack Spade and Steven Alan both recently opened outposts at the westside project, joining existing retailers such as Billy Reid, Free People, Anthropologie, Calypso St. Barth and Sid (men's) and Ann (women's) Mashburn.
One industry source tells me that Urban Outfitters is looking at getting in on the westside retail scene with hopes of opening a store in the project either late this year or early next year. Urban Outfitters is of course the parent company of existing westside retailers Free People and Anthropologie.
Is the Westside becoming your go-to destination for retail? Who is your favorite tenant at the Westside Provisions District? What retailer or restaurant would you like to see added?

I wonder if the choice to go all women's apparel for JCrew is because of "competition" with Jack Spade, Steven Alan, and Billy Reid. Hardly a competition when it comes to price point.
J Crew at Lenox already has bridal in the store... it is often displayed in the windows but no prominently displayed inside the store.
It’s their crew cuts store
