Roche Bobois, the French designer furniture retailer, is moving from its current home at the Shops Around Lenox to a vacant building on Buckhead Avenue.
Roche Bobois opened at the Shops Around Lenox in late 2001 and is seemingly one of the last remaining senior tenants at the revamped Buckhead center. Dantanna's, Tootsies, a relocated Gill's Alterations, and neighboring Sprint store are quite possibly the last remaining tenants that have been open in the center more than five years.
Recently, the Shops Around Lenox went through a renovation and tenant shakeup that included the addition of Crate & Barrel, lululemon athletica, Deka, Swank, Cosabella, Bhojanic and Seven Lamps, another other additions.
The current Roche Bobois' current space is 9,000 square feet, but word is the new location will be even larger, some 12,000 square feet!
Roche Bobois is opening in place of C Lighting at 333 Buckhead Avenue. Adjacent to the space is VIS-A-VIS, a longstanding Buckhead salon.
Rumors, plans, and even permits have swirled for months about potential replacements for Roche, some mentioning the store downsizing, some seeming to imply it would leave altogether. Among those retailers mentioned as replacements for the Roche space are Athleta, the athletic retailer from Gap Inc., and Scotch & Soda, the trendy men's clothing retailer.
No word yet on what will in fact replace Roche at Shops Around Lenox, but my money is on at least two smaller retailers making use of the space rather than one large tenant.
The new Roche is slated to open in mid to late January with their current location likely closing shortly after Christmas.

Do you know if they are going to have a moving sale?
Hi Jenna,
Great idea... but I doubt it. :(
If I find out otherwise I will let you know.
