Metro Atlanta Progress Report

In the coming months, mega projects such as Ponce City Market and Buckhead Atlanta will at least partially open.  Additionally, the closest Cabela's to metro Atlanta is slated to open August 21st in Acworth.  At the same time, there are plenty of other openings planned for the coming months in metro Atlanta.  Below, please find a few updates to previously announced projects and one "golden" project that had been getting a lot of comments/questions.

Real Fix Pizzeria (14 Elizabeth Way - Historic Downtown Roswell)  Following a number of delays, current plans call for the restaurant to open by mid August.

Speaking of Buckhead Atlanta (sounds so stupid to say that living here) as a Buckhead resident I am excited about the new restaurants (seems like most of the development is restaurants) but am in absolute fear over the potential gridlock that will take over this area. It is going to be one gigantic mess. There are multiple access points but most people won't use those and will instead try to get there off of Peachtree.

Any word on what's being developed in Kennesaw next to Ruth's Chris on Chastain?

@Anon RE: Kennesaw,

That is the previously announced Tin Lizzy's. I'm told it is expected to open late August.

@Anon RE: Buckhead Atlanta,

I have similar feelings on both. The same feels rather simple, but generic. This is of course what the developers were aiming for but it just feels vanilla. The parking and logistics of in/out access could be problems but I'm hopeful that it gets configured in a way that encourages walkers and pedestrian traffic. One can hope!

Thanks for your comments and readership!

To this day, I'm stunned that Dean & DeLuca has a store in Charlotte, but not Atlanta.

Makes zero sense.

Buckhead Atlanta is waaaay behind schedule. Although some nice restaurants have been announced, I'm doubtful the other retail space leased is above 60%.

And what ever happened to their *big* Spring Fling announcement party. If it happened, i guess I missed it.
