Mt. Pleasant South Carolina-based Wild Wing Cafe will soon open its ninth location in Georgia and third in metro Atlanta.
When the Wild Wing in Dunwoody opens, Georgia will become the chain's second largest market. Wild Wing has thirteen locations in its home state of South Carolina, and eight in neighboring North Carolina. Wild Wing Cafe was started by Atlanta native Cecil Crowley and his wife Diane, who opened the chain's first location in Hilton Head in 1990. Today, Wild Wing Cafe operates 35 locations in seven states.
The new Wild Wing Cafe will be located on Ashford-Dunwoody Road at Ashford Place in Dunwoody. The 7,400 square foot space Wild Wing will occupy was built as a Romano's Macaroni Grill, and has been vacant since the casual Italian chain closed last August.
Wild Wing Cafe serves a menu similar to Taco Mac, which has a location nearby at Perimeter Place.
Memphis BBQ Co. will soon open in the former Smokey Bones / Firkin & Gryphon at the opposite end of the same center.
Sources say Wild Wing Cafe expects to open their Dunwoody location late this fall.

Great news! Miss it in Marietta. Any word on what's going in the old Arena Tavern in Kennesaw? Saw they put up a construction sign in front of it this weekend.
Love the Jalapeno Cheddar Wings at Wild Wing. It will be interesting to see how they do with Taco Mac down the street, The Bird across the street, and Dunwoody Tavern just a mile away.
Yippee!! Wild Wing beats all the other wing joint by a mile!
There was another wing/beer joint that was supposed to open in the old Cheeseburger in Paradise at Perimeter Place. What ever happened to that?
I was just by Cheeseburger in Paradise the other day. Nothing going on-Signage STILL UP!! Oh there was a sign on door saying that whatever was inside belonged to some company. I would assume that the original deal fell through. Not sure what would go good there- restaurant/Bar with music outside? Vortex Hamburgers to keep the Burger theme and LOCAL!, or Margaritaville to keep the Buffet theme.
Researchers need to create a chicken with 4 wings and 8 legs to keep to supply of wings and drummies up and prices down.
Silly, enough wing concept eateries are all over metro. What's next?
