Charleys Philly Steaks Scores A Spot in Lenox

Charleys Philly Steaks coming to Buckhead

Columbus, Ohio-based Charleys plans to open a new location of their Charleys Philly Steaks in the Fashion Cafe at Lenox Square.  This will mark the twelfth overall location for the chain in Georgia although five are on military bases.  The chain also operates locally under both its Charleys Philly Steaks and its Charley's Grilled Subs branding.

The chain was formerly known as Charley's Steakery.

Charley Shin started the company in 1986, and as with many other quick service concepts, (Chipotle Mexican Grill, Jimmy Johns, Zaxby's), it started near a college campus.  In the case of Charleys, his restaurant actually began ON the campus of Ohio State University.

Today, the chain has over 500 locations worldwide, mainly in mall food courts, outlet centers, airports and on military bases.

The roughly 600 square foot Lenox Square location will be the chain's first in an Atlanta area Simon mall.  The building permit filed with the city of Atlanta does not specify which space within the Fashion Cafe Charleys will occupy, but I'd bet it will be the former Hovan, next to Chick-fil-A.

Charleys Philly Steaks offers a menu consisting largely of sauteed beef, grilled chicken and deli meat grilled subs.  Charleys also offers assorted "gourmet" fries and several flavors of lemonade.
