World of Beer Coming to Former "Paradise" at Perimeter Place

World of Beer primed for Perimeter.

Metro Atlanta is scheduled to get a third location of World of Beer when the Tampa, Florida-based chain opens in Perimeter Place early next year.  World of Beer will open in place of the shuttered, roughly 7000 square foot, Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Cheeseburger in Paradise closed in late 2012, claiming at the time it was remodeling and would reopen later that year.

In early 2013, Los Angeles based Mad Bull's Tavern announced it would open in the space but that never happened.

A World of Beer representative indicated the plan is to have the new location open early next year.

World of Beer features hundreds of regional, national and global beers and assorted tavern fare and joins existing beer-centric eatery Taco Mac in the mixed-use project near Perimeter Mall.

World of Beer started in Tampa in 2007 and has grown to nearly 70 locations nationwide. The chain currently has metro Atlanta locations in midtown and Kennesaw as well as locations in both Pooler and Savannah.

Overall the chain has performed well, but a franchised location in Jacksonville Beach, Florida that had just opened in January closed abruptly this past Saturday.

Are you a fan of World of Beer?  Do you think their concept will do well in Dunwoody?  Where else would you like to see World of Beer open?

Please share your thoughts below.

I'm just glad someone is taking over that space. Most WOB places don't have food but I'm hoping this one will....

Their beer selection is great, but their food quality is not the best. I hope they plan on making changes to the menu sometime soon.

The concept is great and the food is OK but the Midtown location near Gordon Biersch has some of the worst service I've experienced in my life. Two trips included my table's food taking over an hour, being served to another table (who ate it because they, too, had waited over an hour), a waitress yelling at my table, and a manager ripping us off charging us for drinks/food we never got.

Sad, because they had great TV coverage from sports, and from what the menu said, they had a great drink selection (though we were told they were out of simple things like Jack Daniels). I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to go there!

Trying to figure out how they differentiate themselves from Taco Mac, which is 30 yards away and offers 100 beers on tap and 200 more in bottles, and some halfway decent food - depending on what you order....Looks like some poor representation on someone's part.

The Perimeter Taco Mac has taken a hit since the Wild Wing Cafe opened around the corner. I hope this doesn't do them in because it's my go to sports bar. but they have changed their menu way too often recently and bumped their prices while shrinking portions. Not smart moves in a competitive environment.

One of my kids used to love Cheeseburger so we went there fairly often and were sad to see it shuttered. That concept used to be owned by Outback, so when that center first opened, there were FOUR outback-related concepts there with the Outback Steakhouse, Carrabas, Cheeseburger and Flemings. I'm surprised they didn't stick a Bonefish in the Cheeseburger space when it closed.

I've been to the Midtown location and liked it, but have been reluctant to go back because I had my car stolen from the nearby pay lot (Thankfully it was found a short time later a few miles down the street.) in broad daylight. The beer selection is on par with Yard House and to a lesser extent Taco Mac (I'm still going to refer to them as Taco Mac and not the silly shortening of the name that was obviously the work of some overpriced branding firm.). The food is on par with Yard House as well.

WOB Kennesaw is not far from me. They have great food and friendly staff! GM was really friendly and spent a lot of time finding us each a beer we would fall in love with.
