Atlanta-based Flying Biscuit Cafe, which last month closed its restaurant in Paces Ferry Plaza, has found a new home. Promising to be "moving to a new location in a nearby neighborhood," Flying Biscuit has found its new location, barely four miles away.
Earlier this evening, Leslie Mintz, who handles leasing for both Paces Ferry Plaza and Howell Mill Village on behalf of Regency Centers, sent out the following tweet:
"Let's welcome @FBCafe to Howell Mill Village! @regencycenters #openingQ4"
Mintz also mentioned that other blog in her tweet but did not indicate an exact space or square footage that Flying Biscuit will occupy. Knowing the area as well as I do, I think it's fairly reasonable to suspect that the eatery will occupy suite 0016, in the lower level of the Publix-anchored center. The space, situated between Orangetheory Fitness as well as another, smaller available space, was previously a restaurant. Stooges Sports Bar and before that Billy Jack's Barbecue and Shrimp Co., a locally owned BBQ-centric restaurant, operated in the space between 2010 and 2011.
Given Mintz indicates that the restaurant will open in the fourth quarter, the Billy Jack's / Stooges space seems like the only currently available space that would allow for such a quick turnaround. By itself, the current Billy Jack's space is 2,400 square feet and the adjacent space is another 1,300. (Stooges occupied both suites)
Do you think this new Flying Biscuit location is a good move for the restaurant? Do you think Flying Biscuit has lost its charm in the years since Delia Champion sold the concept to Raving Brands (now Big Game Brands)? What is your favorite breakfast joint in Buckhead?

While there are other places nearby - West Egg further down Howell Mill and Egg Harbor & Another Broken Egg on Peachtree (via Collier), there really aren't many breakfast restaurants in the immediate area. I think it'll do well - regardless of people's feelings ever since they became 'corporate'.
This space was most recently occupied by Stooges Sports Bar and driven out by the fitness center and Veternarian services that it sits between....
@Anon RE: Stooges,
Right you are, I was confusing their move in the center.

Thanks for the catch and for reading the site.
As a resident of this neighborhood, I think it will do very well here!
FB is filling a void of decent breakfast restaurants on that side of the interstate on Howell Mill. The old location was competing with two Atlanta breakfast staples, OK Cafe and Goldberg's. I predict a great success! They need to plug into Morris Brandon and E. Rivers community.
This is right down the street from my house and I'm thrilled. I definitely plan to patronize this FB and would love to see more sit-down restaurants in the Howell Mill/Collier area.
Bring it back to Cobb county, we already don't have any breakfast places. Howell Mill has plenty of places to eat.
