LongHorn
Steakhouse plans to relocate its existing Kennesaw area restaurant to a
more visible location nearby. Currently, LongHorn occupies an endcap
space in Town Center Esplanade, a small strip center on Town Center
Drive, closest to the Macy's Men's store & Furniture Gallery at
Town Center at Cobb.
The new Kennesaw LongHorn should look like this |
The new freestanding LongHorn would be located on Ernest Barrett Parkway at Cobb Place Boulevard in place of a former SunTrust Bank branch. SunTrust themselves relocated this past March from 1184 Ernest Barrett Parkway to 1340 Ernest Barrett Parkway, within the new Whole Foods Market anchored Kennesaw Marketplace shopping center.
Sources say the new LongHorn, which at 5,850 square feet, will be larger than the current restaurant and will sit on roughly two acres.
The popular casual dining chain was founded by George McKerrow Jr. on Peachtree Road in 1981. Today the chain is owned by Orlando-based Darden Restaurants and has about 500 locations.
In late 2012, LongHorn moved their existing and dated location in Akers Mill Square to a portion of the former Circuit City within the center.
On Barrett Parkway, LongHorn will join fellow Darden concepts Olive Garden and Bahama Breeze.
An employee at the existing Kennesaw Longhorn indicated that the company's current plan is to be open in the new location July 2018.
Are you a fan of LongHorn Steakhouse? Do you think this is a good move for the restaurant? What would you like to see open in place of the current LongHorn?

Great move! the fight to get into the mall parking lot is never fun and they're overdue for an update.
